It took Chuck Mosley more than a decade to make his newly released album Will Rap Over Hard Rock for Food; his circuitous, obstacle-laden path was detailed in Jeff Niesel’s August 5 cover story.

The Southern California-born and —raised singer — who fronted Faith No More on their first two albums (including the snide track “We Care a Lot,” which has become a radio staple) and spent two years touring with Bad Brains — relocated to Cleveland in 1995.

Eventually, he completed his first-ever solo album at Cleveland’s Ante Up Audio with producer Michael Seifert; it’s the second release on Seifert’s recently launched label, Reversed Image Unlimited.

Mosley has performed in the area very little, so tonight’s CD-release party at the Beachland Ballroom with the band he’s dubbed Vanduls Ugenst Alliderasy is a rare opportunity to hear him live.

Red Giant and Bom Selleck open at 9. Tickets are $10. —Anastasia Pantsios
